If girls are trying so hard to look thin why don't magazines glamorize fat models and make things easier? If fat models were featured and made to be celebrities than girls would want to be like them, and not try to be so skinny, and it'll make everyone's life much easier.
Who's to say being thin is more perfect than being fat. |
Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy were the first superthin fashion models/actresses.
Audrey Hepburn had suffered from malnutrition in her youth, during WW2.
Twiggy was severely anorexic.
Neither of these women was "normal" but they caught the imaginations of photographers and designers and became the new "beauty." Very few years before, the type of woman considered "beautiful" was more like Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, or Elisabeth Taylor--all women who wore a size 14/16.
And not all women were blondes. Now, people seem to think that blonde hair with black roots is attractive. Go figure. |
How much body fat should male super models have or have? How much body fat should male super models have or have? |
| The majority of the ones you see in magazines have anywhere from 6-10% bodyfat. |
What are they called. Heeellp asap the little fat models that you can buy? like it looks like fat and it's suppose to prevent you from eating fatty foods?
anybody know |
| usually nutritionists have that and gyms..u can go to a gym and ask..maybe ther is a nutrition store or something..search online |
Why do they keep putting models in fat suits? No offense but isn't that offensive to big people or something i know i would. They don't even make them reasonably overweight they make them look like blimps. We all know fat people get treated differently Is it just me who thinks this is stupid. |
Yes, it's annoying, insulting, offensive and boring. Why don't they just ask larger women how they're treated instead of putting skinny girls into those ridiculous suits and deliberately making them up to look ugly? And then the show has the gall to call it a "shocking expose" when the subject has been done to death.
And they only use padding that makes the girls look grotesque, not fat, which is why they get negative attention. I saw one show where the pretty reporter was put into a fat suit and had to wear size 12 clothes! How horrible! That's not fat. |
What is the body fat concentration for most male models? What is a common body fat concentration for most male models? |
| It depends on what they are modeling and how old they are. It's not usually about body fat concentration, it's usually about the distribution of fat and also the amount of muscle. |
I am looking for information regarding Moesha whose show was about big and beautiful women (FAT) models? Moesha had a show this late spring or early fall for big, plus sized women who got the chance to be models, stayed at a manson, and had a show called FAT, Moesha's version of Miss Fat America... I am honored to say I am an enrolled member of the great Blackfeet Nation, a federally recognized tribe! We have a lot of gorgeous and beautiful women here, plus we have a lot of beautiful and gorgeous plus size women as well! I am trying to contact Moesha (not Brandy of the Moesha series, but our big and beautiful Moesha!) regarding contacting myself to let her know that we need to see Native American Indian Women on her show!!!
Please contact Moesha for me or get me some information so that I can contact her! It is very important and imperitive that I can contact her! |
| Well first you need to know that her name was Monique. |
Would you buy clothes if stores only started using fat models in ads? what are your thoughts? |
| I think it would be great if they started letting people who are bit over weight, or who not a size 0 start modeling for clothing ads, they need to start showing that being skinny isn't everything. & everyone is beautiful in every shape and size. |
Do only fat people complain about models being skinny? ugh. i swear i hear all these people complaining on her about models and just girls in general being 'so skinny' and 'anorexic' looking.
i honestly don't see what they are seeing.
so are the people complaining really fat and jealous?
or are my views just different than other peoples? |
| They are just jealous. Models don't really look anorexic. They're just skinny. I hate it when people call me a stick or anorexic, I'm not. For one thing, I'm pretty damn curvy. I just know when to put down the fork. That might be mean, but people have just been annoying lately. They just wish they could be thin. Then the people who talk smack to you on here are probably like the ones who talk smack about models. |
Will agencies hire normal or fat models? Because everyone keeps saying how skinny and sick models are and stuff. I want to be a model and everything. But I was kind of curious. Do modeling agencies hire normal or fat people? And if your a good model but not stick skinny, will they not hire you? |
| Some do. Have you ever seen the models for Lane Bryant? They're not anorexia-thin like the models in the uber fashion mags. A lot depends on your look. If the people at the agencies think your look is marketable, they'll hire you. That's why lots of very attractive skinny people can't get hired as models, but the more full-figured women who aren't considered to be "very attractive" by Holly-weird standards can get modeling gigs. So if you want to get into modeling work on developing your look and try different modeling agencies. If they don't hire you, don't take it personally -- instead, ask them if they have any helpful hints or suggestions to improve your look (other than losing weight). |
Would this society accept fat people if the cover of magazines had fat models posing for them ? If there were more fat actors in cinemas getting lead roles, more fat pop singers and dancers and more fat models, would this society accept fat people ? Would being fat be less of a crime ? |
Throughout history there have been waves of "fashion". Some generations have actually had eras where "the bigger the better" ideas were more popular, and of course some where they needed extra skinny. In less populas countries where American TV was not aired the self esteem was much higher, but... as a trial in this same subject. Sociologist and psychologist brought episodes of Friends and some other television programs to some of these areas. After some time it was documented that those members of those societies had a decreased self esteem and poor body reflections. The diets of these areas reduced drastically and they started treating each other in a discriminating manor. They had gone from perfectly happy to, a constant diet and low self esteem, all from American Media Hype.
So yes I do agree if more models actually looked like the general public, we would be happier as a society.
People actually think the average female is a size 3, because that is what is on the magazines. However, the average American female is a size 14. Even Marilyn Monroe, declared the sexiest woman of all time was a size 14.
People need to shut the magazines and look around. |
